NO LONGER A “ONE WAY” STREET FOR POLY COMPOSITE TOTE TANKS
Polyethylene composite tote tanks, known as “Poly Composites”, provide a more efficient alternative for the one way transportation of regulated liquid products. One major advantage of the poly composite tote tank is their inexpensive cost coupled with their UN qualification rating. These features allow a chemical supplier to ship their regulated liquid products in poly tote tank containers to their customers only one way. There was no need to return the tote tanks back to the supplier. Often times the cost of the return freight would outweigh the cost of a new poly composite tote tank. Hence the term "one way". The increased flexibility provides the chemical supplier additional options to reduce their overall packaging cost and pass those saving on to their customer.
Poly composite tote tanks have become much more durable over the years and are now capable of multiple trips. For the manufacturer or chemical supplier shipping locally, they can reuse the poly composite tote tank container as long it still meet the DOT requirements. The maximum useful life of the poly composite tote tank is two and a half years.
Metano’s poly composite tote tanks are composed of an inner container, extrusion blow-molded tank of UV stabilized high-density polyethylene, compatible with a variety of liquids and meets FDA regulations for handling food products, and the galvanized tubular steel grid design forms the outer enclosure. The top of the cage on a poly composite tote tank is attached by bolts allowing rapid removal of the inner container for refurbishment. The pallet, which provides 4-way forklift entry for easy moving, typically is made of galvanized tubular steel, but you also have the option of wood or plastic pallets.
