Celebrating Chemical Storage Tanks and Chemical Week

As a key supplier of chemical storage tanks, we read with interest about the 100th Anniversary of Chemical Week Magazine. It is astounding to note just how far the chemical industry has evolved in the last century, and yet we also look ahead to what new advances may come in the future.

For a quick look back at the chemical industry, we begin with WW1, which brought with it unprecedented demands for chemical and drug markets. This was followed by the development of polymer fibers in the 1930s. In the 1960s and 70s, we saw the rise of household chemicals, and in just the last 50 years we’ve witnessed the development of agrichemicals and the expansion of chemical businesses to emerging markets.

Chemical storage tanks were first patented in the early 1990s to meet the need for a durable, yet affordable means of transporting chemicals and other liquids from one location to another. Today, Intermediate Bulk Containers (or IBCs) offer the benefits of good compatibility with a range of chemical liquids, efficient utilization of storage space, plus the ability to reuse and recycle containers for a lower environmental impact. Review some of the FAQs about IBCs

At Metano, we’re proud to partner with some of the leaders in paints and coatings, chemical, personal care and other markets to provide superior stainless steel chemical storage tanks. And we are constantly monitoring the market for new developments that may impact our storage totes.
